Do I need an ecological survey?

If you are unsure whether you need an ecological survey we can undertake a preliminary appraisal of your site to see what its potential ecological interest might be and whether you are likely to need further surveys before obtaining planning permission for a development.

About me

Rigby Jerram has been an independent ecological consultant since April 1990.

In that time the consultancy has established itself as one of the most respected consultancies in the north of England and the UK as a whole. The firm has an extremely wide client base, ranging from Government agencies, such as Natural England and Countryside Council for Wales (Natural Resources Wales); through local authorities; nature conservation charities and pressure groups; utility companies; to planning consultancies and large consultancies, such as Capita Symonds and Halcrow Group Ltd. Rigby Jerram Ecological Consultants prides itself on its high level of repeat custom. The ethos of the company is to provide a high quality product, to specification and time scale.

The company has been involved in a wide range of ecological work, from Environmental Impact Assessment of major roads schemes and quarries, vegetation surveys of extensive areas of moorland, fine scale surveys of complex sites, devising and conducting vegetation monitoring schemes, nature reserve management planning, technical authorship and representation at public inquiry, to the training of personnel in vegetation survey techniques.
